Gravy
This is a Turkey Gravy recipe using the dripping and giblets from your Thanksgiving turkey.
The best gravy uses the juice and giblets from the turkey.
Start the giblets cooking when you put the turkey in the oven.
Ingredients
Turkey Giblets
Turkey Roasting Juices, fat separated.
All purpose flour
Directions
Giblets
When turkey is first being put in oven add all giblets and neck to a medium pot.
Add water to cover.
Put on rear burner set to simmer the entire time the bird cooks.
Gravy
While turkey is resting dice the giblets and neck meat.
Move turkey to platter and pour liquid in large measuring cup or oil separator. If you do not have oil separator use turkey baster to suck the juice out leaving the fat behind.
Put juice back in roasting pan and
Add giblets and liquid from giblet pan.
Heat on stove top to a simmer.
Add fat to skillet and heat on medium high.
When it is hot add flour to fat and cook flour a couple of minutes.
Add flour mixture to liquid in roasting pan.
Whisk to thicken the gravy.
